Chapter 35 (35ํ) is the thirty-fifth chapter of the Solo Leveling webtoon series written by Chu-Gong and illustrated by Dubu.
Summary[]
After finishing another intense raid, Jinwoo and Lee Joohee take a peaceful stroll through a tranquil park, using the moment to catch up. Joohee, a B-Rank healer, admits that she no longer feels her timid nature is suited for the dangerous life of a hunter. Despite this, sheโs grateful for the lower-ranking raids that allowed her to meet Jinwoo, admiring his unyielding determination even as she healed his numerous injuries. She returns the E-Rank essence stone Jinwoo had given her during their last encounter, revealing that she never sold it. Joohee decides to retire from being a hunter and move back to her hometown, Busan, expressing her hope to see Jinwoo again soon before parting with a smile.
After she leaves, Jinwoo reflects on a warning Investigator Woo Jinchul had given him after the raid about his previous dungeon incident. Woo mentioned that S-Rank hunter Hwang Dongsoo might seek revenge for his brother Hwang Dongsuk's death. He advised Jinwoo and Jinho, the other survivor from that raid, to be cautious or even consider leaving the country because "The law is powerless to deal with S-ranks." Jinwoo sees this as another reason to grow stronger, realizing he wouldnโt stand a chance at his current level.
Later, Jinwoo and Jinho meet with their unique strike team of lower-ranked hunters at a glowing C-Rank dungeon gate. Jinho selected six hunters, each with different "reasons" preventing them from working regularly, such as injuries, lack of experience, or personal issues like alcoholism, to meet the minimum requirement of eight hunters for a C-Rank gate. Among them is Han Song-Yi, a minor who is allowed to participate due to her awakened status, despite skipping school at the time. Sheโs also a friend of Jinwooโs sister, Jinah, though Jinwoo is unaware of this at the time. Song-Yi is offended when Jinwoo refers to her as a kid, but he quickly reminds her of her place by pointing out her E-Rank status and lack of raid experience.
Meanwhile, at the White Tiger Guild headquarters, the news of Jinho spending a large sum of 150 million won (about $121,500 USD) on rights to C-Rank gates catches the attention of Manager Ahn Sangmin and his assistant Hyun Kichul. Ahn recalls Sung Jinwooโs name from the infamous Double Dungeon incident and becomes immediately intrigued. Noticing that Jinwoo had narrowly escaped three dangerous situationsโthe Double Dungeon, Hwang Dongsukโs strike team, and Kang Taeshikโs attackโAhn suspects that Jinwoo might have undergone a second awakening. Determined to learn more, Ahn decides to investigate one of the gates personally.
