A deep, bone-chilling growl cuts through the battlefield. From the depths of the blizzard, a colossal Ice Bear steps forth. Its fur is thicker, its muscles more defined, and its eyes burn with an unnatural fury. This is no ordinary Ice Bear—this is their Alpha. The Ice Bear Alpha lets out a bloodcurdling roar, and in a blur of motion, it lunges.
With terrifying power, it tears through Jinwoo’s shadow soldiers, ripping them apart with savage efficiency. One swipe from its massive claws shreds through an entire row of soldiers, their black forms dissipating into shadows before vanishing completely. Another bear lunges, only for the Alpha to grab it with its powerful jaws and crush it in an instant.
Jinwoo feels his mana draining at an alarming rate. Every destroyed shadow soldier saps his reserves, and in mere moments, his entire army is reduced to nothing. His vision blurs as the system alerts him—his mana has reached zero. The battlefield falls into silence. Igris vs. The Ice Bear Alpha – A Duel of Monsters[]

With an elegant step, he sidesteps the incoming strike. Metal gleams. In the span of a heartbeat, Igris swings his blade. A deep gash appears across the Alpha’s side. The beast roars in agony, its thick skin tearing open as crimson blood splatters onto the snow. But Igris is already on the move again. He does not stop. His sword digs deeper, tearing through muscle and sinew. With each step, his blade carves a path along the beast’s flesh, widening the wound until blood pours in thick, steaming rivers. The Alpha stumbles. Its strength begins to falter. And then—it collapses. The mighty leader of the Ice Bears crashes into the snow, its massive frame trembling from shock and blood loss.
But Igris does not wait. With one final motion, Igris raises his sword— and in a single decisive strike, he beheads the Alpha. The severed head lands with a thud in front of Jinwoo. Silence once again falls over the battlefield. Jinwoo watches, impressed. Even among his growing army, Igris remains a force of destruction. The battle is over. The air around the gathered hunters is filled with a quiet unease—three hours inside a Red Gate was dangerous. Most people never came back. Among them, Hwang Dongsoo stands with arms crossed, his sharp gaze locked onto the swirling portal. He scoffs, the corner of his mouth twisting into a smirk. To him, Sung Jinwoo is already dead. He makes a casual remark, suggesting that Jinwoo’s fate was already sealed the moment he stepped inside. He voices his opinion that they should all move on—he will return to America, as there is nothing more to see here. But not everyone shares his indifference. Ahn Sangmin speaks up. He reminds Dongsoo that Sung Jinwoo is an acquaintance of his, someone worth waiting for. But his words seem to trigger something in Dongsoo. In an instant, Dongsoo moves.
