Ice Elves (백귀), also known as Hyakki or Ice Slayers, are a race of elves typically found in frozen environments. They were ruled by Sillad, the King of Snow Folk and the Monarch of Frost.

They resemble humans in appearance but are distinguished by their blue skin, white hair, piercing white eyes, and long elven ears.
History[]
Red Gate Arc[]
For the ice elves that Jinwoo encountered during the Red Gate Incident, most of them were shown to be very arrogant and had a tendency to want to fight strong opponents. During their first ambush on Jinwoo's raid party, they cleverly attacked the two weakest hunters in the group and were able to easily kill one of them. The other, an E-Rank Hunter named Han Song-Yi, was saved in the nick of time by Jinwoo, who caught the arrow that the elves shot at her with his bare hand before it could reach her face. Upon realizing that Jinwoo was the strongest member of the group, one of the elves taunted him a neck-slashing gesture before retreating, highlighting their bold and aggressive behavior as a species.
Ironically, this same elf would later be instantly beheaded by Jinwoo during their second encounter several days later.
Ragnarok[]
In the revised timeline created when Jinwoo used the Cup of Reincarnation, the fallen ice elves were presumably returned to life along with their liege Sillad. Though it was short-lived as Sillad and his army of ice elves were all killed by the Shadow Monarch in order to prevent the events of the original timeline.
Not all the ice elves perished, as those that made up the Frost Monarch’s army were only the adults. All the ice elves who were children or too young had remained behind in an isolated village, near a place called Echo Forest, with a few elders to care for them until they matured and joined the army of the Frost Monarch.
The young ice elves never knew the fate of their parents or the Frost Monarch and lived mostly training to becoming adults to eventually serve in the army of the Monarch.
After decades of their world drifting in dimension space, an event occurred that would shake the ice elves' peaceful lives. Dimensional cracks had appeared in the sky, the turbulence disturbing the spirits in Echo Forest, driving them out to attack the ice elf village. Many of the ice elves died that day and would have pushed to extinction, when a rift to Earth by chance opened, sucking Kaisel who was carrying Cha Hae-In into the land of the ice elves.
Upon seeing the young ice elves in trouble Cha came to their aid with Kaisel fighting alongside her. Despite being a human, Cha, made quite an impression off the elves, as she was a strong warrior who rode a dragon, making them viewed her as a savior. While normally magic beasts were to follow the drive to kill humans due to orders of their Monarch, Cha was a unique existence as her necklace give to her by Jinwoo enabled her to communicate with the elves and establish a friendly rapport.
Since all of the adults in the ice elf village had perished, Cha acted as the guardian to the remaining ice elves, protecting and even teaching them swordplay. Whilst this Cha attempted to look for a way home. Kaisel though stay in the realm proved to be detrimental as he was running out of mana and would soon cease to be. Due to this Cha looked for a way to save the dragon.[1]
While out exploring the Echo Forest, Gates opened to Earth, connecting it with Facade Island, causing a dungeon break. Hunters on the other side of the Gates began to invade what they called the Glacier Dungeon in order to stop the dungeon break. In response to this the ice elves took arms and hunted any hunter that approached their territory. Though a few kept some hunters alive long enough to question if they were familiar with the name Sung Jinwoo, though none of the humans did, resulting in their deaths.
Sung Suho raided the dungeon with the Scavenger Guild, got lost and met with the ice elves. Upon seeing his face, and noticing his resemblance to Cha, the immediately recognized him as Cha' son.
Abilities[]
Unlike most magic beasts, they possess human-level intelligence and are skilled fighters, wielding bows and daggers in battle. They typically use arrows with ice magic infused into them and are smart enough to ambush and attack their opponents from a safe distance.[2] They also all seem to be able to use Stealth collectively and appear to be very sadistic, as they take great pleasure in slaughtering humans.[3]
