Joo Jae-Hwan was a Korean D-Rank Hunter and one of the 11 hunters who were killed during the first Double Dungeon incident.

Appearance[]

Jae-Hwan was a lanky young man with spiky black hair and the body build of a track runner. During the events of the first Double Dungeon Incident, he wore a black hoodie with orange sleeves and gray tennis shoes.

Personality []

Jae-Hwan was an individual who tended to act reckless and foolish while under pressure. This was demonstrated by how he tried to escape the Double Dungeon on his own despite the overwhelming power that the Statue of God had demonstrated earlier, a mistake that he paid for his life and body.

History[]

D-Rank Dungeon Arc

Jae-Hwan was part of the hunters led by Song Chi-Yul that entered a D-Rank dungeon. After the dungeon was mostly cleared, a second dungeon was discovered. A vote on whether to explore it or report it to the Korean Hunters Association, was called on which led to the former decision by majority vote.[1] The hunters arrived to a pair of doors leading into a chamber with giant stone statues and a monument with a set of commandments. When the doors closed, one of the hunters attempted to pull out and leave the room, but was killed by one of the statues that became animate.[2]

After the Statue of God killed some of the hunters with its heat vision, Jae-Hwan desperate to escape, and not wanting to die since he just signed up with a major guild, opted to escape on his own. Confident that he could dodge the heat vision with his enhance speed, he ignored Chi-Yul's warning, and made a sprint to the doors. However Jae-Hwan was vaporized by the statue before he reached the doors, his only remains being his feet and shoes.[3]

Abilities[]

  • Enhanced Speed: As a D-Rank Hunter, Jae-Hwan was able to move at superhuman speeds and was noted to take pride in how fast he could move. However, he was nowhere near fast enough to reach the doors of the Cartenon Temple before the Statue of God was able to fry him to ashes.

Trivia[]

  • When voting to enter the Double Dungeon, out of the 13 votes, Jae-Hwan was one of the seven hunters to agree.
