Shadow Extraction (그림자 추출) is a resurrection skill unique to the Shadow Monarch.
Overview
Shadow Extraction allows its users to revive a slain beast or hunter as a shadow soldier. It is triggered through a set command word, does not cost mana to use, and can be applied over a large radius, allowing its users to extract hundreds of shadows at once if they want. Despite the fact that Shadow Extraction essentially allows its users to create an army of shadows at their command, it comes with several weaknesses.
At Level 2, Shadow Extraction gains the additional effect 'Shape Transformation', which allows its user to freely change the appearance and form of Shadow Soldiers.[1]

[Extracts mana from a lifeless body and turns it into a Shadow Soldier. The failure rate is proportional to the target’s stats and the time elapsed since their death.]
[Level 2 effect ‘Shape Transformation’: You can freely change the appearance and shape of Shadow Soldiers.][1]
Weaknesses
- Shadow Extraction can't be used on targets with contaminated mana, such as demons. However, Suho was eventually able to bypass this restriction with Antares' powers.[2]
- Shadow Extraction can't be successfully used on targets who are significantly stronger than the users themselves.
- Shadow Extraction can only be used three times on a single target, meaning that the users have only three chances for a successful extraction.
- Shadow Extraction can't be used on targets with mana-based biology, such as the Rulers and the Monarchs.
- Shadow Extraction originally couldn't be used on targets that didn't possess mana. However, Jinwoo was eventually able to bypass this restriction when Ashborn granted him the true powers of the Shadow Monarch.
- Shadow Extraction can't be used on a target who have been dead for a significant length of time.
