Solo Leveling: ARISE is a 2024 PC and mobile immersive action RPG game developed by Netmarble Neo and published by Netmarble Corp. It is based on the webtoon series of the same name and was released on May 8, 2024.
Synopsis
In a world where humans with magical abilities hunt monsters for a living, players step into the shoes of Sung Jin-Woo, the weakest of all hunters, who barely survives the lowest-ranked dungeons. Known as an E-rank hunter, Jin-Woo struggles to make ends meet and support his family. However, his life takes a dramatic turn during a particularly dangerous dungeon raid.
After narrowly escaping death in a deadly double dungeon, Jin-Woo is mysteriously chosen by an unseen system that grants him the unique ability to level up his power, unlike any other hunter. This new power allows him to grow stronger by completing quests, defeating monsters, and acquiring valuable loot. Determined to protect those he loves and uncover the truth behind his new abilities, Jin-Woo embarks on a perilous journey filled with formidable enemies and powerful allies.
As players progress through the game, they will relive key moments from the original story, experiencing Jin-Woo's evolution from the weakest hunter to the most powerful being in the world. Along the way, they will encounter other hunters, uncover hidden secrets, and face off against colossal bosses in intense, real-time combat.
Gameplay
The game captures the essence of the source material, allowing players to step into the shoes of the protagonist, Sung Jin-Woo, and experience his journey from an E-rank hunter to the world's strongest hunter. Players gain experience points (XP) by completing quests, defeating monsters, and participating in events. Leveling up enhances the character's stats such as health, mana, attack, and defense. As characters level up, they unlock new skills and abilities. Skills can be upgraded to increase their power and effectiveness. There are active skills (used in combat) and passive skills (provide constant benefits) .
The Combat System features a real-time combat system where players can control their character’s movements and attacks, players can chain together different skills to perform powerful combos, dealing massive damage to enemies. They must strategically dodge and parry enemy attacks to survive and gain advantages in battles.
For some Dungeon Raids, Players can enter solo dungeons that mimic the experiences of the protagonist, fighting through waves of monsters to reach the boss. They can team up with others to tackle more challenging dungeons, requiring coordination and strategy to defeat powerful bosses.
Defeating enemies and bosses can drop various items and equipment. Gear ranges in rarity from common to legendary, with higher rarities offering better stats and unique bonuses, and for that, players can collect materials to craft new gear or upgrade existing equipment, enhancing their power and abilities.
Players can join or create guilds, fostering a community of hunters. Guilds offer additional quests, rewards, and social interaction, they can compete against other guilds in large-scale battles for supremacy and exclusive rewards.
There are also quests and Story Mode based to the Manhwa, following the main storyline of Solo Leveling, with cutscenes and dialogues that bring the narrative to life. You can engage in various side quests to gain extra rewards, XP, and lore about the world of Solo Leveling.
