Solo Leveling (나 혼자만 레벨업, Na Honjaman Lebel-eob) is a Korean web novel written by Chugong. It was first serialized on February 14, 2014, on the platform Munpia and was later published in full by D&C Media under their Papyrus label on November 4, 2016.
A sequel series entitled Solo Leveling: Ragnarok began serialization in April 2023 and focuses on the events that occur several decades after the end of the main series, with Sung Suho, Sung Jinwoo's son, serving as its main protagonist.
The series started as an unpublished novel in February 14, 2014 that ended originally with 14 volumes and 270 chapters.[1] It was later published in 2015 and the novel was serialized with the 270 chapters by October 10, 2018. In KAKAOPAGE, a new chapter is unlocked every 12 hours.
Crunchyroll announced Solo Leveling would be adapted into an anime series by A-1 Pictures at Anime Expo 2022.[2] The series was to be simulcast worldwide on the Crunchyroll streaming service (outside of Asia). Further due to the outstanding popularity of its webtoon adaptation. Since the anime was meant to serve as an the adaptation of a Korean webtoon, Crunchyroll dubbed the anime in multiple languages, including Japanese, Korean, English, and Hindi.
Premise[]
Sung Jinwoo is one of the weakest hunters not just in Korea, but in the entire world. Four years into his torturous struggle for survival, he almost meets his end in a double dungeon, only to miraculously survive and obtain new abilities as the Player of the System. From that point on, Jinwoo swears never to be weak again and starts training to become strong enough to protect the family that he holds dear. Follow Jinwoo on his journey as he fights against countless enemies in his quest to become the strongest hunter ever and discovers secrets that he never could've imagined.
